Audi Club Northwest is proud to welcome members from all over North America to Portland International Raceway (PIR) for the Frank Beddor Nationals at Quattrofest. Quattrofest has been a fixture at PIR and our signature event for 17 years. The track now has two miles of fresh asphalt for everyone to enjoy. It features twelve turns that will include the famous "Festival Curves" for this event.
Easy to learn but challenging to perfect, PIR has a 41 year history. It has hosted many huge events including CART, IMSA, Trans Am, ALMS, NASCAR, and other national racing series. Tailor-made for driving schools, the facility has enough room to simultaneously run lapping sessions and skills exercises. This will also allow Quattrofest to have an autocross, a first for an Audi Club North America national event.
Come a couple of days early to experience the great Northwest with two terrific tours. They are structured to show everyone some of what the area offers.
Thursday’s Tour will head east up the Columbia River Gorge where participants will be treated to spectacular views with multiple waterfalls and mountains. One group will go to the Maryhill Museum of Art overlooking the mighty Columbia River. This museum is the world’s largest art museum with 6000 acres of land. Starting with the unusual art of a full size replica of Stonehenge and finishing with the Maryhill Loops Road, it boasts some of the most interesting and unusual art on the planet. In the museum building the temporary exhibit at that time will be Comics at the Crossroads: Art of the Graphic Novel. The permanent exhibits include Auguste Rodin (sculpture), Native American art and culture, Samuel Hill, Marie Queen of Romania, European paintings (mostly British, Dutch and French), Loie Fuller (modern dance), chess sets and much more. You will get to drive the famous Maryhill Loops Road that has been seen in countless commercial advertisements and photographs. The Maryhill area is also one of the largest wind production areas in the United States. You will get to see some of the huge wind generators up close on the museum property. The afternoon will wrap up with wine tasting just down the road at the Maryhill Winery.
A second group on Thursday will split at Biggs, Oregon to take lunch at the Grass Valley Market and Deli, and then head to Oregon Raceway Park (ORP) for a tour (in each direction) of this new Northwest track. The group will then head south to Highway 26 and tour from east to west over the pass on Mount Hood, to return to Portland.
Friday’s Tour will start south down the Willamette Valley at the Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum. This museum houses an eclectic group of aircraft including the world famous Spruce Goose which is on permanent display at the museum. After a lunch at the Museum you may choose between three options. One group will head north and enjoy visiting several wineries in the Willamette Valley, which has been recognized as one of the premier Pinot Noir producing areas in the world. Another group will head west to the Oregon coast and take in the spectacular world famous views and great driving roads. You may also choose to spend more time at the Evergreen Aviation Museum and take in an IMAX movie or tour the space wing or for some a once in a lifetime visit to the Spruce Goose.
Saturday the driving event proper starts with our terrific Drivers Education program for novice drivers and lapping for advanced drivers. Drivers Education students will then have a choice to participate in the afternoon autocross or lapping on the road course.
For Saturday evening, plan on a terrific dinner banquet at the Red Lion Hotel on the Columbia River, with good company, good food, and an entertaining experience for Audi enthusiasts. We are pleased to welcome former Audi of America Inc. safe driving clinic and new model introduction representative Kathy Rude to our banquet. Kathy will share some photos of her racing background and experiences in helping develop the then-new Audi Quattro Club instructor training program. The banquet will also include an auction, all proceeds of which will benefit Audi Club Northwest. Please use this catalog to research the auction items ahead of time and decide what you would like to bid on at the auction.
Sunday you go back to the track and continue with either lapping or autocross.
We hope you will consider joining us for this very special Quattrofest!

Chalk Talks are required for first time attendees and recommended for all. If you are a first time attendee you must attend one of these chalk talks in Seattle or Portland. There will be no food available so please eat before you arrive. We will likely have plenty of room at both of these chalk talk sessions. You may invite your family or friends to participate.
Chalk Talk #1: Tuesday, November 2, 2010, 7:00-9:00 pm, Mercer Island Community Center
Chalk Talk #2: Friday, November 5, 2010, 7:00-9:00 pm, Red Lion Hotel meeting room
Our hotel for this event is the Red Lion Hotel on the Columbia River. The club has reserved a block of rooms at a group discount of $95 per night for one king bed or two queen beds. Go to www.redlion.com/jantzenbeach and on the right side column there is a box that has “Special Rates”. In that special rates box there is a group/convention box. Check that group/convention box and then put in the code 1101AUDI. That will bring up the rate for the group. Or you can call the hotel directly at 503-283-4466 and ask for in-house reservations. Or you can call 800-RED-LION and mention the Audi Club and you will get the special rate.
